The first of their kind in the modern world! Milkweed used to be called the silk of America, as it was widely used, first, by our Aboriginal Peoples and later by European settlers for a variety of purposes.
Milkweed is a valuable resource which also supports endangered monarch butterfly populations. Each milkweed fibre is hollow, making it a great insulator. The fibres are also naturally coated in wax, making them totally hydrophobic. Naturally hypoallergenic, the roots of milkweed contain tannin, similar to buckwheat, which repels dust mites.
Each pillow cover is 100% cotton (260 thread count).
